Community Mourns John Stringer's Passing

The gay community, the arts community and the Perth community lost a special person with the sudden passing of John Stringer on Tuesday the 13th November. John was best known as the Curator of the Kerry Stokes Art Collection – a job he loved. His enthusiasm for living life to the full was inspirational. Despite a very busy international career John was legendary for his generosity to everybody, his championing of the arts within Australia and overseas and his gentle respect for all people. His quiet sense of humour belied a strong commitment to Northbridge, the place he made his home, to his family and to fostering artists in Perth.

Many people will miss his dynamic energy, his strong integrity and just his lovely presence in the world. Rest In Peace John.

A website, www.johnstringer.com.au, has been established for artists, colleagues and friends to share their photos and memories celebrating the life and career of John Stringer.
