The magazine cited his acting work, musical success and 2.8 million YouTube subscribers as achievements deeming him worthy of making the list alongside Nobel Peace Prize winner Malala Yousafzai, New Zealand musician Lorde and trio Ciara Judge, Emer Hicky and Sophie Healy-Thow, who discovered a bacteria that may have a crucial role in solving the world food crisis.

Also on the list was Jazz Jennings, a 14 year old activist who has been publicly speaking out on transgender issues since the age of six, and is known as a voice and advocate for transgender children.

Sivan released his third album ‘TRXYE’ this August, topping iTunes sales charts in over 50 countries. The South-African born performer came out as gay on his YouTube channel last year. His single ‘Happy Little Pill’ has become widely popular.
