The Buzz…

The Panics at the Bakery – The fab four returned to their hometown to show off their latest musical wares. The show was squarely hip, prompting one fan to say ‘they look like the Beatles’, though they definitely sounded more Nick Cave.

Angus & Julia Stone at Capitol – Brother and sister Stone had the crowd flying higher than the Eagles after a victory. The packed venue of standing patrons didn’t take away from the intimacy of the performance, which gave Perth a glimpse of Nimbin.

Lisa Loud at the official Pride Party – Those who remember it loved it, and those who are a wee bit fuzzy are fairly certain it was a good time. Ms Loud brought a loud, banging set of the very dirtiest, very naughtiest house… and don’t even get me started on the music.

Marilyn Manson at Challenge Stadium – He scares the shit out of me, but for his fans, not all of whom were dressed in the most gothic of blacks, he put on one helluva show, complete with the music, costumes and antics expected. Reports back to OiP headquarters said playing queer spotto was almost as entertaining as the show.
