Carly Rae Jepsen has followed the lead of rock band Train by pulling out of the boy scouts of America’s Jamoboree concert. Jepsen confirmed her withdrawal via a Twitter post saying, “I always have and will continue to support the LGBT community on a global level.”
Jepsen was launched to fame last year with her viral hit, ‘Call Me Maybe’ which has been a favourite of the gay community.
An online petition asking Jepsen to withdraw had gathered over 60,000 signatures. Unlike the Australian branch of the global organisation the Boy Scouts of America does not allow leaders or scouts to identify as LGBT.
