SCENE Out with Panache

Hello my sweets,

New scene queen here! Dear old mOther sends her regards, but she’s jetting off for 2011 to soak up notoriety in New York, lap dances in London, and twisted fun in Tokyo. That leaves me, the fab Panache, to look after you all. Mwah!

In celebration of six months of Famous Fridays, Connections are mixing things up with very special guests, duets and camper than camp spot numbers! Make sure you get in before 1:30am for your chance to grab a ticket in the raffle, drawn after the shows! If you’re not keen on the guest, Fem gives you your moneys worth alone. Connections are also filling the room with drag queens galore for a little bit of room theatre that’d make old mOther proud, to meet and greet and spit and spank! They are paid to look pretty, talk to you… and munt with your head!

Pornstar Babylon on January 15! Connections Nightclub will be transformed into a room of pleasure, play and sweat. There will be naked (well almost) boys in a shower, making it incredibly hard not to STAY UP all night, if you know what I mean! International pornstar Jonathan Agassi will be making an appearance. This will be a night of intense delight, and defiantly a night to leave the boyfriend at home and dance away on the dance floor with London’s DJ Paul Heron, international deckmaster! The main room will include DJ’s Rob, JohnniP and JJ, while Cinnamon, Rudy and Curlee provide a sultry groove on the terrace.

There has been the most outrageous drag scandal! I quote from the queen affected ‘I don’t break easily, and she broke me’. While away, her newly appointed ‘right hand whoa-man’ was given the opportunity to host an event. While in ‘power’, this queen took things too far in wearing signature pieces of our absent showgirl, abusing and talking down to patrons and acting up to a bunch of lies and false statements. I say farewell to you across-the-sea, missy, and may you learn yourself a huge lesson.

Make sure you all go down to the Court and lift the spirit of things, as Hannah Conda has just come on board with Swish Eveready as co-host for Wednesday nights armature drag. Hannah Conda is well worth the support, this sweet young thing knows how to entertain! She’s even giving Swish a run for her money, some say.

Hannah and Swish ain’t all The Court’s got going on: make sure you go check out Silent Dicso on the 25th of January! Silent Disco is the world’s most unique dance party concept, and it’s coming to one of Perth’s most unique venue! Grab your headphones and support your favourite DJ as they battle it out in the beer garden! It might even be an idea to go down with signs, banners and make a real riot for your favourite DJ! If that’s not your thing, head on down to the beer garden, find a stud and a nice little corner and have your own party! Look out for the ad this issue to see who’s doing who at Silent Disco!

Don’t forget January’s biggest day of the month: Australia Day is the 26th of January! The Court will be holding an all Aussie night with the DJ’s playing Australian classics all night long. Make sure your there from 9pm as our newest queens step up to the Courts stage and mime away for a special Australian version of amature drag! I’d be keen to see some facial hair and some boy drag this night, let the sausages out for a night girls!

Then party on over at Connections Nightclub as they celebrate Australia Day with the Lesbian Mud Wrestling Smackdown! Wanna get down and dirty with some national pride? Entries are to go to promo@connectionsnightclub.com, and it has been said that there will be some boy-on-boy action this night too. So doll yourselves up in green and gold, cover yourselves in Australian flag tattoos and party for your country!

Connections Nightclub are in the stages of developing a brand skanking new lounge area! This area will contain tables, lounges and a nice retreat from the loud music and flashing lights, that Connies is so well known for. They want to know what YOU think, hope onto http://www.coakesconsulting.com/connectionsnightclub.html to complete this exciting survey!

Outside of queer land we’ve got a newly launched night at Devilles starting up on the first Monday of each month with the future FEMINEM. Go down for some ’90s dance music, fun, cocktails galore and more! I think we all agree Fem knows how to get a party started, so it’s worth checking out. You may even see Ash Baroque running around, as he is now crowned Madame Deville! I take my wig off to you Ash.

Lastly, my sweets, on the 29th of January we have BENT coming to Bar 138, this particular night is PINK themed and in partnership with members of Clubwest. This is cross promoting the March Clubwest show with special guest Julia Jenkins aka Bette Midler impersonator. This may be the last Bent event if you do not support it, so please go down and make sure you grab a drink and show your support. Entry is $10 and with that you get your first drink FREE, as well as FREE entry into Connections Nightclub, so what are you waiting for?

Until next issue my sweets, I bid you farewell, a happy new year, and may 2011 bring you all what Santa did not!

Panache xXx
