Sattler to Sue 6PR

Howard SattlerSacked Shock Jock Howard Sattler is suing his former employer 6PR for unfair dismissal claiming that his termination was unwarranted.

The talk back host was suspended and then dismissed after he asked Prime Minister Julia Gillard if he partner Tim Mathieson was gay.

Satler has filed a writ in a the supreme court that claims that his sacking was unwarranted and could have been solved by a on-air apology.

In the writ Satler reveals that he lost his $195,000 a year salary. His contract with the station had six months remaining and he had expected to sign on for an additional 3 years. The writ also reveals that Satler was paid an an additional $100 for each commercial he recorded or read live on air.

Satler’s questioning of the Prime Minister was widely criticised in both political and media realms. Then radio presenter recently announced that he plans to write a book about his media career.
