Gay rights campaigner Liz Grant, the former deputy chair of the board of trustees of UK gay rights organsiation Stonewall, has been awarded a CBE in the Queens New Year’s Honor roll.
Grant was honoured for her work in improving equality for LGBTIQ people in the workplace.
Also honoured, former Eastenders actor turned politician Michael Cashman.
Cashman made TV history in 1987 when his character Colin Russell pecked his lover on the forehead – creating British TV’s first gay kiss.
Queer favourite Kate Bush was also awarded a CBE for her services to music.
