An emotive advertisement in favour of marriage equality played during the finale of The Bachelor last night.
While the Coalition for Marriage’s advertisement featuring mothers concerned about the consequences of unrelated issues played several times during the broadcast, the Equality campaign created a special advertisement to air during the show.
Asking people to vote YES for every bachelor and bachelorette in Australia, The clip showed same-sex couples getting married and sharing joy with their friends and families, while Sarah Blasko’s recording of the Crowded House tune Don’t Dream Its Over played.
The cost of airing the advertisement was covered by the show’s major sponsor Wrigley’s Extra, and the ad was created by Leo Burnett Melbourne who joined forces with Airbag, ARC Edit, Manimal and Nylon.
