Sisters Tonnette and Victoria Stanford have been collaborating on LGBT-themed films for over ten years, and are bringing their latest offering ‘Love Bytes’, to the internet with the help of a Kickstarter campaign.
‘Love Bytes’ shares the foibles and misadventures of housemates Jade, Michael and Stacey, the ‘Neopolitan ice cream of sexuality’, as they heroically stumble through Sydney’s dating world. Tonette says she wanted to make a web series that would explore the universal experience of looking for love, and she used real life dating stories as inspiration.
“My very good friend Michelle was determined to find love last year,” Tonnette said, “She went on forty dates in twelve months and still ended up single. These dates were so outrageous, so bizarre yet so relatable that I felt compelled to make a web series out of them. Her life stories really are a hilarious gift to the world.”
The first two episodes of ‘Love Bytes’ have been made with the assistance of Metro Screen’s Breaks program, and they are hoping to raise $12,000 to finish the series and air it online.
