Jennifer Aniston signs on to play first lesbian President

Jennifer Aniston has signed on to play America’s first lesbian President in a new movie, and Tig Notaro will play her wife.

The Netflix comedy First Ladies will tell the story of Beverly and Kasey Nicholson who move into the White House.

“They’ll prove that behind every great woman… is another great woman,” Netflix said in a statement announcing the project.

Notato will write the script for the film alongside Stephanie Allynne. At this stage the film has no release date.

Since wrapping up TV series Friends in 2004 Aniston has made a career out romantic comedies and has rarely ventured into other genres.

After years of making back to back films Aniston, who will turn 50 next year, made no films released in 2017. She’ll soon be seen in the war drama The Yellow Birds and musical comedy Dumplin’.

Aniston has also signed up for her first regular TV role since Friends wrapped, she’s working on a new sitcom for Apple TV.
