Italian Sports Magazine Tackles Homophobia

The cover features rugby players Stefano and Giacomo and who play for the club Libera, which describes itself as Italy’s first gay friendly rugby club.

The cover asks “Who’s Afraid of a Kiss?”

The cover has received a mix of positive and negative comments in Italy.

The predominately Catholic country is the last country in Western Europe that does not provide any form of recognition of same sex relationships.

A recent political protest in Rome opposing marriage equality drew a massive crowd of 300,000 people.
