Gambian President Yahya Jammeh has called for all homosexuals to leave the country, reportedly vowing to ‘cut off the head’ of any homosexual caught. Human rights groups have since reported arrests of suspected homosexuals. Gambia criminalizes homosexual conduct as an ‘unnatural offence’ and offenders can be imprisoned for up to 14 years.
