Claudettia Love is a student at Carroll High School in Monrow Louisiana.

After finding out that her school had instigated a policy declaring that female students must wear dresses to the Prom, Claudettia and her friends decided not to attend.

Local newspaper The News Star has reported that the school has said it’s simply a dress policy, but the student thinks the move has more to do with her sexuality.

Love told the newspaper that she’s a top performing student and she’s disappointed with the school’s decision. Since the article was first published the President of the district school board has confirmed that he disagrees with the policy and has pledged to speak to the school’s principal.
