Fairday Heats Up

Thousands of people have ignored Perth’s sweltering heat and head down to Pride WA’s annual Fairday celebration in Hyde Park.

The main stage as seen entertainment from a range of singers, drag performers and DJs, not to mention the legendary dog show!

The forecast had predict the start of Perth’s week long heat wave and anticipated a 36 degree day, but at 4pm the temperature was reached 39 degrees.

Organisers had thought ahead and organised lots of shaded areas and water sprays to help keep the patrons cool.

The fair featured stalls from many local community groups and there was a wide variety of activities to entertain both young and old.

Fairday is on until 6pm today.
