In her annual address the Queen spoke about her recent trip to a meeting of Commonwealth nations in Malta and the importance of young leaders, reflected on “moments of darkness” the world had experienced in 2015 and spoke about the commemoration of the end of the second world war.

Meanwhile an Irish TV station has delivered an alternative take on the Christmas message delivering a speech from cherished drag queen Panti Bliss – the Queen of Ireland.
