Camptastic

Life is a cabaret – a fabulous, glorious, camptastic cabaret – as South Australia hosts the world-class Adelaide Cabaret Festival from June 6-14. Originally added to The Festival State’s line up de fete’s in 2001, the Cabaret Fest has sung and danced its way to become one of the premier Australian performance arts festivals. Often the first stop for international cabaret artists, the festival hosts Southern Cross starlets of the stage as well. The breadth of cabaret on offer is as impressive as the quality, with the stylings of the Weimar Republic, Paris Chat Noir, New York and Las Vegas all melding into a week of pure fantabulousity. Could it get any better? Well, actually it can, as festival goers can discover their inner cabaret (much like an inner child, but more prone to dressing in costume and living in the land of make believe) through developmental workshops.
