Aussie musicians #SayYesToLove

sayyestoloveMore and more Australian individuals, communities and businesses coming out in support of marriage equality as the debate remains at the forefront of public discourse in the wake of international events.

#SayYesToLove includes tracks from John Butler Trio, Josh Pyke, Kate Noonan’s Vanguard, The Cat Empire and Jimmy Barnes.

“This is about basic human rights,” says Jimmy Barnes, “No one has the right to tell someone who they can love, or how they can express their love. Love is about caring for, and sharing your life with the one you love, and if the act of marriage helps to make that connections stronger in the eyes of the people sharing that life or in the eyes of the law then they should be encouraged, it should not be made more difficult.”

Each track has been donated by the original artist and proceeds will be used to power the Australian Marriage Equality Campaign.

“Every day, Australians are finding new and innovative ways to get behind the marriage equality campaign,” Campaign Director Ivan Hinton-Teoh told press, “I am delighted to be part of #SayYesToLove and I hope it inspires more to find their voice to champion for equality.”

#SayYesToLove Vol.1 is available on iTunes from Friday July 17th.
