Are YOU who we're looking for??

Feeling a bit lost lately? Think your life could do with some value-adding?

Perhaps it’s time to take Ghandi’s advice, ‘The best way to find yourself is to lose yourself in the service of others’, and consider volunteering….

The Western Australian AIDS Council (WAAC) is looking for committed reliable people to join us as volunteers!

WAAC volunteers come from a wide range of communities, ages, and join volunteering for a variety of reasons. While some come to give back to the community, others are interested in developing their skills or being part of a project team to create change.

There are opportunities to volunteer in lots of different roles across WAAC, such as assisting people living with HIV, working on events or helping with Health Promotion strategies.

Some of these positions require specialist skills while others simply require commitment and a bit of time.

WAAC volunteers receive comprehensive training and ongoing support, and join a great team of people who improve the lives of people living with HIV and work to prevent transmission of HIV.

Interested in finding out more? Come along to WAAC’s Volunteer Intro Night on September 8 at 664 Murray Street West Perth to find out about WAAC, how we work with volunteers and the volunteer roles we have available.

You can register your interest in attending by calling WAAC on 9482 0000.

Later in the month, on September 18 and 19, WAAC will be holding its last Introduction to Volunteering training for 2010.

In this one weekend intensive, prospective volunteers will be learning about HIV and AIDS, the Western Australian AIDS Council and the skills, rights and responsibilities of volunteers at WAAC.

If you are interested in WAAC’s Intro to Volunteering Training, contact our Volunteer Coordinator, Zoe Carter, for more information on 9482 0000 or via zcarter@waaids.com.
