Andrew Bolt Questions Lack of Anti-ISIS Float at Mardi Gras

The Bolt Report

Columnist Andrew Bolt has made comments questioning why there was no anti-ISIS float in Saturday’s Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras parade.

On Sunday morning, Bolt said he felt that the LGBT community had gone “missing” in speaking out against ISIS attacks on gay people.

“The Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras had 150 floats last night, not one float protested about the killing of gays by Islamic State, which I thought was rather more serious than Catholic church problems,” Bolt said on Network Ten’s ‘The Bolt Report’.

Former Labor MP Gary Johns was a panelist on the program. He shared with Bolt that he felt the local LGBT community was being “self-indulgent” and “anti-Western”.

“I’m in favour of gay rights, and feminist rights… but both those groups have become in Australia self-indulgent.

“It’s all about them and their job prospects. So there’s no solidarity with gays and women around the world and essentially, they’re anti-Western.”

More than 10,000 people were involved in this year’s Mardi Gras Parade for the event’s 37th year.
