Morrison has an acting resume dating back to the 1960s , and is perhaps best known for her role as the sharp-tongued Rosario in the long-running sitcom Will & Grace.

Morrison’s cast mates have all taken to social media today to post tributes to the late actor.

“She was absolutely hilarious and had the biggest heart,” Sean Hayes wrote.

“She was part of our Will and Grace family and will be greatly missed. My heart goes out to her husband Walter and her entire family.”

Debra Messing also shared her sadness, “Oh, Shelley… what a loss.”

“Our dear Rosario has passed on. Shelley had a career that spanned decades, but she will always be our dear Rosie.”

Morrison was invited to return for the Will & Grace revival by creator Max Mutchnik, but chose not to reprise her role after deciding to retire from acting.

Morrison was nominated for two Screen Actors Guild awards for her work on Will & Grace, and twice in the American Latino Media Arts Awards for outstanding supporting actress in a TV series.
