Following the announcement of prime festival slots at Victoria’s Meredith Music Festival & New South Wales’ Fairground Festival, The Breeders have announced that they will also be visiting Perth, Brisbane, Melbourne, Sydney, Melbourne & Canberra on a six-date Australian tour.

Earlier this year the band released All Nerve, the group’s first record in a decade and their first in 25 years reuniting the iconic Last Splash line-up of sisters Kim and Kelley Deal, Josephine Wiggs and Jim Macpherson.

The album reached #2 on four Billboard charts and garnered widespread praise from critics including the New Yorker who declared, “The Breeders are a model not simply for the timelessness of good art – the ways in which ingenuity boomerangs – but for what women can accomplish, regardless of whether the culture ever rises up to support them.”

The band first formed in 1989 with Kim Deal from The Pixies and Tanya Donnelly from Throwing Muses in the line-up. After a few member changes they found success with their 1993 album Last Splash that featured the popular song Cannonball.

Their latest album All Nerve is their fifth album and features a contribution from Aussie singer Courtney Barnett. The band have just released a cute home made video for their song Nervous Mary. It features two puppet version of Kim and Kelley Deal made by an enthusiastic fan.
