Luke Anthony’s dream of being named ‘The Voice’ has come to a sudden end with his elimination from the popular TV show.
On Sunday night his rendition of Ricky Martin’s Livin’ La Vida Loca failed to impressive the audience.
Coach Boy George said he was gutted when Anthony became the first singer to be knocked out at the conclusion of the first live final.
Anthony faced off against personal trainer Brock Ashby who is on Kelly Rowland’s team. Ashby delivered a rendition of Sex is on Fire by Kings of Leon, while Anthony sang Shontelle’s Impossible.
“I have grown so much from this experience, it has been incredible. This is definitely not the last of me.” Luke Anthony said after he was eliminated from the competition.
The first of the live finals saw Jacinta from Delta Goodrem’s team deliver an impressive rendition of Beyonce’s End of Time complete with choreography and a team of backing dancers.
While queer teenager Sheldon Riley, also on Boy George’s team, delivered an impressive rendition of Radiohead’s Creep.
Aydan Calafiore, who is coached by Joe Jonas, performed in a rain shower while delivering The Weekend’s tune I Can’t Feel My Face. Perth looper Sam Perry delivered a sped up rendition of Nirvana’s Smells Like Teen Spirit.
