RuPaul's Drag Race's Bebe Zahara Benet hit with racist comments

RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars 3 contestant Bebe Zahara Benet has been swamped with racist comments online after last week’s episode.

For those who don’t watch the show, each week the winning contestant earns the power to send one of the worst performing queens home. Benet, who won last week’s Andy Warhol inspired fashion challenge, chose to eliminate Season 9 favourite Aja.

Since airing, Benet’s social media accounts have been spammed with racist slurs and death threats, prompting Aja to speak out online.

Benet isn’t the first queen to face racism from the Drag Race fandom. Past winner Tyra Sanchez, Season 7 contestants Jasmine Masters and Kennedy Davenport and last season’s Nina Bo’Nina Brown have also reported abuse from within the LGBTI+ community.

Benet has not explicitly addressed the attacks, but instead shared her approach to dealing with negativity with her fans.

RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars airs Fridays on Stan.
