Justin Timberlake gives a glimpse of his new album

Justin Timberlake has given fans a glimpse of what his new album will be like. In a video posted to YouTube the singer declares his latest work will be his most personal yet.

Timberlake’s Man of the Woods will be released in February, but the first single will drop this Friday.

The video show Timberlake running through snow covered fields, building campfires and wading across rivers. In the clip the singer says the work is inspired by his home state of Tennessee and his family.

“This album is really inspired by my son, my wife, my family, but more so than any album I’ve ever written, where I’m from. And it’s personal.”

The new record will be the fifth of Timberlake’s solo career. He first found fame as the lead singer of boyband N’SYNC. His previous albums include 2002’s Justified, 2006’s Future Love / Sex Sounds and the two part album The 20/20 Experience which was released in 2013.

While the album has been described as ‘southern music’ and is expected to have a strong country element, Timberlake has been working with regular producers  Timbaland, Danja, Pharrell Williams, Chad Hugo, and Max Martin.

Timberlake is not the only star touring to country music for inspiration, apparently large parts of Kylie Minogue’s forthcoming album were recorded in Nashville, Tennessee.
