Originally from South Africa, Carlson now lives in New Zealand, but she’s recently become a regular face on Aussie TV through her appearances on Chanel 10’s Have You Been Paying Attention?

When Carlson chatted to OUTinPerth back in 2014 she told us her number on priority as a comedian as to make sure audiences had a good time, promising that she never picks on audience members.

“I don’t pick on my audience at all, because people are so petrified to go to a comedy show! It’s funny! And nobody wants to sit in the front and I understand 100% because they get picked on. But I always say I never pick on my audience because I understand that they come to see a show, not be the show.” Carlson said.

The comedian has just released her memoir entitled Rolling with the Punchlines which is available through Allen & Unwin.
