Movie Night

Invite your mates over for a DVD night, make some lo-fi pizzas and savoury snacks, grab some marshmallows, prepare some retro trifles and pop the popcorn.

Don’t buy microwave popcorn, go for the real stuff, its fun to make with friends, once it’s popped sprinkle icing sugar and cinnamon over the top.

RECOMMENDED VIEWING

The L Word (MA15+)
This is the Mecca of all thing lesbian. Why not bring Mecca to your lounge room with The L Word marathon to end all marathons. You may potentially need a few more savoury rolls to get through all the heartache, love affairs and butch haircuts.

Barberella: Queen Of The Galaxy (M)
Put on your best space lemur outfit and step back in time with Jane Fonda as she takes over the future. Help her find the missing scientist Dr Duran Duran in possibly the campest movie ever made. The zero gravity space striptease will make you wet, so pack extra knickers.

My Own Private Idaho (M)
Put aside your narcolepsy and get a hustle on: Gus Van Sant’s classic gay love story is one to watch. Swoon as the beautiful and enigmatic River Phoenix leads pin-up Keanu Reeves on a trans-global adventure that sees them running around in their jocks and riding motorbikes. Sigh.

Party Monster (MA15+)
Watch in explicit detail the rise and fall of New York club kid Michael Alig, played with amazing precision by a high camp Macaulay Culkin. Costumes, couture, camp, excessive drug taking and murder… oh my. After watching this you’ll always know how to work a room. Dress up for this one.
