Actor and model Colton Haynes will be honoured by on of the USA’s leading gay rights groups.
The Human Rights Campaign will bestow their visibility award on the actor best known for his role in the TV series ‘Teen Wolf’.
Haynes, who has previously modeled for fashion label Abercrombie and Fitch, where he was photographed by the legendary Bruce Weber. He also appeared in campaigns for Ralph Lauren and J.C. Penney.
Back in May the actor ended speculation about his sexuality when he came out in an interview with Entertainment Weekly. Haynes spoke about his struggles with anxiety and about how pressure on him to confirm that he was gay had affected him.
Chad Griffin, the President of the Human Rights Campaign said Haynes was a worthy recipient of the award for “inspiring countless LGBT young people across the country and world to live their lives as their authentic selves.”
In 2016 the award was given to pop star Kesha.
