Death of Scene

Perth’s newest gay themed night Scene at Flawless has ended after just two weeks. The Sunday night event at the Subiaco night club drew 150 patrons on its opening night but only 50 returned the following week.

Promoted as a cultured and contemporary night for the LGBT community, Scene promised performances, fashion and cocktails and boasted that this would not be another night that ended after six months.

Promoter Paul Van Lieshout Hunt commented on the cancelation,

‘In truth the night was brought into existence with terrible timing, University resuming, Mardi Gras, The Court starting Sunday sessions, long weekend parties at Connections and after the Christmas period. All this obviously had an effect.’

The owner of Flawless was contacted but did not respond before this article was published.
