Police prevent attack at Los Angeles Pride

Howell200x267Police is California have stopped an attack that was planned to be carried out during the Los Angeles Pride celebrations.

Police discovered James Wesley Howell when a member of the public reported his suspicious behaviour.

Police found Howell sitting in his car which had Indiana number plates. When they conducted a search they found firearms and a 5 gallons of a chemical that can be used to make a pipe bomb.

Police have said there is no evidence at this time that this incident is linked to the massacre of 50 people in a nightclub in Florida.

The organisers of the LA Pride parade held a moments silence during the parade to remember those killed in the Pulse Nightclub in Orlando, Florida. Organisers were adamant that the parade would go on despite the recent attacks against the LGBTIQ+ community.
