Rock star Bryan Adams has cancelled an upcoming show in the US state of Mississippi in response to a new law that facilitates LGBT discrimination.
The new law will allow private businesses and religious groups to refuse service to lesbian and gay couples.
Adams revealed in a statement that he can’t in good conscience perform in a place where “certain people are being denied their civil rights due to their sexual orientation.”
The Canadian musician joins a wave of public figures in boycotting states with anti-LGBT laws, including Bruce Springsteen who just recently called off a show in North Carolina.
