Local community radio station RTRFM is celebrating international Women’s Day by rolling our programming where every interview, every song – and even every presenter is a woman.
The celebrations kicked off at 1am this morning with ‘Up Late’ presenter Taylah Strano, at 4am ‘Snooze Button’ took over with Leona Devaz at the microphone.
The two presenters created an all-girl soundtrack the first 5 hours of listening for night owls and early-risers.
Tanya Bunter and Kylie Sturgess will be explored women’s stories on ‘Breakfast’ and ‘The Mag’ respectively, speaking with guests including Perth artist Kelly McClusky of the PVI Collective, ‘National Geographic’ Explorer Sarah Marquis and Perth writer Alexis Lateef.
RTRFM’s new release program Out to Lunch sees the wonderful Meri Fatin at the controls and will feature an interview with American music legend Lucinda Williams.
At 3pm the afternoon beats will come courtesy of Jo Lettenmaier and the ‘Full Frequency’ show, while the commute home will be soundtracked by regular Tuesday ‘Drivetime’ presenter Jas Hughes.
Claire Hodgson and Holly Doll will bring the day to a close on ‘Rock, Rattle & Roll’, followed by Jane Hebiton for ‘El Ritmo’ and Dani Marsland with special guest Tina Says rounding off 24-hour programming block with massive beats on ‘Bass Check’.
