Local DJs Roski and Curlee will be spinning a selection of great tunes. The ever popular Gay and Lesbian Singers of WA will be taking to the stage to sing their hearts out.  Plus the legendary dog show will be conducted.

Singer Nat Ripepi will be performing. rapper Yully is on the bill. The performers from popular new queer night ‘Grind’ will make an appearance and cabaret sensation Cougar Morrison will sing too.

Musician Lee Williams will entertain the crowds. Dynamic burlesque performer Aurora Galore is locked in to perform and there’s a stack of other entertainers schedule to appear. Drag star Swish Eveready will keep the day’s proceedings running smoothly.

Pride WA said Fairday will be the highlight of the Fringe World festival with over 4000 attendees expected. Last year the event was named joint winner of the best community event at the festival’s awards.

Pride WA President Andrew Barker said a big focus of this year’s event would be quality entertainment.

“Fairday will feature something for everybody and there will never be a dull moment” Mr Barker said.

“This year we are focusing on putting a little more ‘camp’ into the entertainment, as well as having less talk and more music on stage.”

A key part of Pride WA’s strategy for delivering Fairday is making sure it’s a family friendly event, included in the activities program for the day is a plethora of kids events.

Pride’s Vice President Michelle Rogers couldn’t hide her excitement about the upcoming community event. Ms Rogers said the organization had listened to the feedback from previous years and tried to build on the success of the event.

On area that the committee got a lot of feedback on was the lack of shade in the park. To make more shaded areas attendees can now bring in their own beach umbrellas. There will be designated areas for picnics.

“It’s always on one hottest days of the year.” Ms Rogers said, “We’re bringing in a lot more shaded areas but we’re also encouraging people to bring their beach umbrellas too.”

Pride Fairday is staged on Sunday 7 February in Hyde Park from 11am – 6pm. Come down and visit the OUTinPerth stall near the main stage.
