Channel Seven’s ‘My Kitchen Rules’ will include a gay contestant when the show returns to our TV screens tonight.
Jordan Bruno from Wanneroo will appear on the show alongside his mum, Anna.
Jordan told The West Australian that he’s proud to be representing the gay community.
“I am honoured to be representing the gay community on the show,” Jordan said.
On the show’s website Jordan reveals he’s really into healthy eating and using lots of vegetables. While Anna shares her love of traditional Maltese and Italian food.
Jordan and Anna are the first team up to cook on the popular show, but making a meal for 12 is normal for this team who love a big family get-together.
New judge joins ‘My Kitchen Rules’ in 2016
Now in it’s seventh year ‘My Kitchen Rules’ is changing it up a little in 2016, Pete Evans and Manu Feildel return as judges, but promos for the show have suggested a new female judge will be joining the show.
There’s been some speculation about who the new judge will be, but the most popular suggestion has been British TV cook Rachael Khoo.
‘My Kitchen Rules’ is back on Channel Seven at 7:30pm Monday 1st February.
Update: 17-02-16 An earlier version of this article suggested that Mr Bruno was the first contestant to be open about his sexuality from the beginning of the contest. This assumption was based on a statement Mr Bruno said in his interview with The West Australian. Some readers, who have seen more of the show than we have, disagreed with this statement, so we have deleted it.
