Over the last five years OUTinPerth’s web audience has grown by over 300% as the publication has transformed from being a monthly newspaper to a multi-platform title, with a active website, and vibrant engagement across a range of social media outlets.

“A few years ago the OUTinPerth website basically featured the same stories as the newspaper. Today our team is publishing unique content online seven days a week and responding to breaking news as it happens.” said editor Graeme Watson.

“The newspaper has been transformed in a glossy magazine format, and our website let’s us deliver expanded versions of stories that we do it print and also allows for rapid follow up of the issues that the community cares about.”

The print magazine can now be found in over 300 locations around Perth and is also distributed to regional areas and interstate. The entire magazine can now also be read online or downloaded for computers and tablets.

OUTinPerth engages with audiences across a range of social media channels including Facebook, Twitter, Google+, YouTube and Instagram.

In 2015 OUTinPerth also upgraded it’s e-news service from a fortnightly release to five updates a week. Each week day, around 3pm, the daily e-news delivers the top news and culture stories to over 2,500 reader’s in-boxes.

In 2016 OUTinPerth has several new projects being launched to increase engagement with the LGBTI community both locally and internationally.

“As 2015 comes to a close we’d like to say a massive thank you to all our readers, advertisers and local community groups for their support. We hope everyone has a brilliant New Year and look forward to bringing you more news in the year ahead.” said Graeme Watson.
