Suzie Mathers Back in 'Wicked'

Suzie MathersMusical theatre star Suzie Mathers will return to the role of Glinda in ‘Wicked’ when the musical heads to Perth later this year.

Mathers will replace Lucy Durack who recently announced she was expecting her first child with choreographer husband Chris Horsey. Durack performed the role the last time ‘Wicked’ was in Perth.

Mathers is no stranger to the part, she previously performed it close to 450 times.

The actress is a Perth local having studied at Rossmoyne Senior High School and the WA Academy of Performing Arts.

Mathers previously impressed Perth audiences when she played the lead in ‘Mamma Mia!’.

The 10th anniversary production of ‘Wicked’ opened in Melbourne last May before moving to Sydney in September. The show is set to travel to Brisbane in February where Mathers will take over from Durack.

‘Wicked’ opens at the Crown Theatre on May 3rd.
