Fans of disco queen Donna Summer can rejoice because eight of her later albums are about to get a special re-release.
Specialist music label ‘Driven by the Music’ will put out extended version of the following albums;
‘The Wanderer’ (1980), ‘Donna Summer’ (1982),’Cats Without Claws’ (1984) , ‘All Systems Go’ (1987), ‘Another Place And Time’ (1989), ‘Mistaken Identity’ (1991) and ‘I’m A Rainbow’ (recorded in 1981, but not released until 1996).
Each release will feature additional bonus tracks and remixes. The albums will also ber eleased on vinyl, the first time ‘I’m a Rainbow’ has been given a vinyl pressing.
Fan favourite, ‘Another Place and Time’ was produced by Stock, Aitken and Waterman. They’re the same team who were behind the careers of Kylie Minogue, Jason Donovan, Bananarama and many other pop acts of the ’80s.
The new version of the album will span three discs and included five versions of the track ‘Breakaway’, three versions of ‘I Don’t Want To Get Hurt’, two versions of “Love’s About to Change My Heart’ and a whopping eight different mixes of ‘This Time I Know It’s For Real’.
‘This Time I Know It’s For Real’ was a hit in Australia when it was covered by The Young Divas in 2006. Summer passed away in 2012, last year a remix album of her greatest hits was released.
The new version of the albums are expected on December 1st. Â Â
