Miss Swish Eveready is in town… and that usually means a good spate of gossip is to be had. Usually. Appears the girl is behaving… which I doubt very much. What this suggests to me is that she’s flying under the radar. What I do know, however, is that she’s sporting a nice bit of pink eye according to some images mOther saw on Facebook. So if you have some salacious gossip about Swish… or any drag queen for that matter… drop me a line at mother@www.outinperth.com – best gossip will win accolades and possibly prizes. Possibly.
Flaunt. At Niche. Every Thursday. Features DJ Johnni P getting down and jammy with DJ Feminem ‘I Am The Future, So Deal With It’. Be there and flaunt it. Flaunt it good. Real good.
March 6 and 13 at The Court Hotel sees Miss Thang, Feminem The Future Is Now… Bitch, in a spectacular one woman show. Loosely based on the Dreamgirls phenomenon, Fem appears in Dream Goirls, a slightly more gangster feel, probably due in part to Chicago being in town. She’ll be joined by Lachlan and Ben doing the back-up dancer thing.
Do you feel like dancing, whoooo, dancing, whoooo, dancing the night away? Good, because Connections have you covered, especially with the premier of their Short Cuts this Saturday March 6 featuring the incredibly agile Ms Allegra. Who is she, exactly? Why… none other than Miss Pole Dance Australia 2010. She has legs sure to wrap themselves firmly around your imagination.
It’s 27 Steps at Connections Nightclub this Sunday March 7. Yes the Home of The Munt plays host to a more laidback affair, the kind that takes the lazy Sunday by the hand, whisks it up to The Terrace, plies it with liquor and then takes advantage of it. It’s that sort of a Sunday night, except with a barbecue. Not the drag queen, thank god, but the actual edible kind that you can wrap your lips around. Best part? Five bucks entry. That’s a helluva lot of bang(ing) for your buck.
Saturday March 11 is Short Cuts Vol 2, with body art fantasy being touted as the d’jour. What exactly does that mean? I wouldn’t have a clue. I do, however, suggest you become a fan of Connections Nightclub on Facebook, and while there have a look through their photo galleries. Sift back and you’ll find some taken by dear old mOther herself. Yes, those are the ones featuring all the Krazy Krushgroove Kids, the pink duck and a game of cat and mouse. Go and take a gander.
Saturday March 20 is Short Cuts Vol 3 featuring Feminem. See this award winning drag superstar in a set of spot shows that are sure to light up the stage. Where? Connections Nightclub, naturally.
Voix de la Ville returns to the Castle on Sunday March 21. This time it brings with it some truly international flavour in the form of Axe Girl. She’s a British pop sensation who fuses acoustic with a dash of electro. She’s a powerhouse of sound, the likes of which you’ll just cream your big girly knickers over. But don’t take our word for it, check her out at www.axegirl.org. And if that wasn’t enough to whet your appetite then get ready for this line-up: Strykermeyer, Glamour Puss, Ostin Torre in a whole new production show, burlesque babe to the stars Iskra Valentine, the irrepressible Giselle from The Krazy Krushgroove Kids and the infamous electro smash hit band Giselle & The Tokyo Red Eyes, Modesty Env, Panache, Ashina and the indisputable international club kid Ash Baroque. Music will be supplied by the sex-sound-gods that are Petrosexual, Rex Monsoon and Enis D. This is sure to be massive. Be there to witness another fabulous slice of outrageousness. Doors open 5pm.
The annual Full Frequency Fundraiser is set to hit. Called Four O’Clock Classics, this event kicks off on Friday March 26 at Connections. The night will feature all your favourite DJs including Ben Mac, Massiv Trav, Dart, Sardi, Ben Elliott, Declan, Rok Riley and Dan the Man while out on The Terrace you’ll hear DJs Lara H., Rudy, Devo, Mama Cass, Ben M and Petrosexuality. It’s $10 entry for RTRFM subscribers and $15 for general admission. Prices on the door are more than likely to increase, but so it should… it’s a fundraiser for RTRFM folks and a damn good sounding one at that. Be there to dance the night away.
This Easter is set to be huge over at Connections with the appearance of Lady Bunny. She’s the larger than life living legend responsible for Wigstock, the phenomenal drag music event which is attended by over 40,000 people a year. Bunny is a comedienne, singer, songwriter, actress, DJ and much more. She’ll appear at Connections on Thursday April 1. See the full page ad this issue to find out full details.
ZOO will be making an appearance on Easter Sunday. See the Facebook group for more details. More info when it comes to hand.
Easter Sunday will also see the launch of Funkin’ Sundays at The Court Hotel with High Tea from 2pm (booking essential) hosted by Madame Clit-O, live bands from 4pm and DJs from 7pm. More details next issue, plus all goss on the Gay Prom.
In the meantime, make sure you’re all little terrors!
Big love,
mOther
