April 10-18th was National Youth Week and it saw the launch of Live It Queer!
Freedom Centre has been collaborating with Working It Out in Tasmania who has been funded by the Tasmanian Government to develop an online place for young people throughout Tasmania and across Australia to show what it is to Live it Queer.
The project aims to get queer young people connected and to provide an opportunity to have their voice heard across Australia. Young people are invited to submit their creative works which could be stories, poster or postcard designs, photos, videos or any other digital stories. The project will run from National Youth Week through to IDAHo (International Day Against Homophobia & Transphobia, May 17th) and beyond.
Working It Out (for their ALLSORTS youth group) is partnering with the Freedom Centre in WA, Way Out in regional Victoria, and Twenty10 in Sydney for Live It Queer. Other organisations are welcome to get involved too.
So if you’re under 26 and queer, we want YOU to share your work and tell Australia what living it queer means to you.
If you want to tell Australia how you Live It Queer and are interested in getting involved go to www.liveitqueer.com and check out the ‘Get Involved’ page where you’ll find information and how to upload your entry.
