Tina Arena says she’s very excited about performing at the party for Sydney’s Mardi Gras on Saturday night.
Speaking to OUTinPerth at the Mardi Gras VIP Party on Thursday night the singer was giving away few details of what her performance might contain saying she wasn’t “letting anything out of the bag” but did hint that there would be a special surprise.
“It’s my third or fourth time at Mardi Gras, but I’m still really excited,” said Arena.
The singer said she had been surprised by the success of her album ‘Reset’ that was released last year.
“I’m really pleasantly surprised,” said Arena, “It’s been so really well embraced. I’m thrilled, I really genuinely thrilled about it because it’s not what I expected. I thought it would be much harder when you’ve had that much of a break.
“I think the body of work speaks for its self and I really believe in that record which has a lot of positivity on it, which is something we all need.”
Arena was one of several VIP guests attending a pre-Mardi Gras function at the Sheraton on the Park last night. Also walking the red carpet were special guests Chaz Bono, Shane Jenek who performs as drag star Courtney Act and same sex marriage advocates Christine Forster and Virginia Edwards.
Tina Arena is performing at the Mardi Gras Party on Saturday night in Sydney and her song ‘Don’t Hide’ is the official theme for Mardi Gras 2014.
