Christopher Malcolm of 'Absolutely Fabulous' Dies at 67

Christopher Malcolm, known widely for his role on the cult UK comedy ‘Absolutely Fabulous’ as Edina Monsoon’s long-suffering gay ex husband and Saffy’s father,  has passed away from cancer at age 67.

Malcolm also played Brad Majors in the original production of the Rocky Horror Show in 1973, and went on to produce many of the shows themselves, including the 1990 Rocky Horror revival, after which he became the executive in charge of all subsequent worldwide productions.

He also produced a number of successful theatre shows including ‘Footloose the Musical’ (2003), ‘Flashdance the Musical’ (2008), ‘The Pajama Game’ (1999) and the UK tour of ‘Our House’ using the music of Madness, in 2008. He also produced ‘A Slip of the Tongue’ starring John Malkovich and Alan Benett’s ‘Single Spies’.

He is survived by his wife, Judy Lloyd, two brothers and a sister, his three children (one of whom is the playwright and screenwriter Morgan Lloyd Malcolm) and one grandson.
