Ellen Page and Julianne Moore to Play Lesbian Couple in 'Freeheld'

Recently out lesbian actor Ellen Page and cinematic legend Julianne Moore are set to play a couple in the upcoming film ‘Freeheld’.

The film will be based on the 2007 documentary of the same name, which won the Oscar for Best Short Documentary. It chronicles the story of veteran detective Laurel Hester, who, after she is diagnosed with terminal cancer, battles the Ocean County Freeholders (her elected officials) for the right to leave her earned domestic pension to her partner of the same sex, Stacie Andree, an option that is automatically available to heterosexual couples.

The film is also reportedly going to star Zach Galifianakis.
