Beyonce has praised Australian songwriter Sia Furler who wrote a track on her new album.
“Sia is such a genius. The second I heard the song, I’m like, ‘I have to sing this song, I don’t care how hard I have to fight for this song, this is my song!'” Beyonce declared in an interview with iTunes radio.
Sia penned the opening track ‘Pretty Hurts’ which is featured on Beyonce’s new visual album.
The new album caught fans by surprise last week when it was released on iTunes without any hype or promotional build up. The album has been declared a game-changer for the music industry. Each song came with a music video, leading to fans dubbing it ‘The Visual Album’.
Alongside her own career Sia has been a prolific songwriter penning hit tunes for Rihanna, Beyonce, Eninem, Ne-Yo, Christina Aguilera and Britney Spears. Sia also wrote ‘Canonball’ the debut track for ‘Glee’ star Lea Michelle and is reportedly working on Kylie Minogue’s new album.
Since it’s release last week Beyonce’s new album has broken records and is the highest selling album for the first three days of release on iTunes.
