The Arty Gallery of Western Australia has announced that it’s six part MOMA collaboration will end with the current exhibition. The ‘Van Gogh, Dali and Beyond’ exhibition was the third installment of what was originally intended to be a series of six exhibitions that brought artworks from New York to Perth.
In an open letter Gallery Director Stefano Carboni highlighted increased insurance costs, lower than expected attendances. Carboni said the gallery was proud of what it had achieved with the MOMA exhibitions.
“I am proud that these exhibitions have enjoyed excellent visitor numbers and outstanding visitor satisfaction. When the third exhibition ‘Van Gogh, Dalí and Beyond: The World Reimagined’ concludes, the MoMA series will have attracted nearly a quarter of a million people since its launch.”
The current exhibition will close on the 2nd of December.
