What have you been up to since we last saw you in Perth?

Gig wise I’ve been to Queenstown NZ to play at Gay Ski Week, as well as Auckland more recently for Progaganda. I’ve also been up to Cairns for the DNA Tropical Pool Party and down to Melbourne a couple of times to play my Poof Doof residency. Locally I have my residencies at Arq, The Beresford and Unity.

Remix wise I made a Dub of the Pet Shop Boys song, “Thursday” which is a track from their new album. They approved it and it’s currently out on promo in the UK. I’ve also had two remixes by Jessica Sutta approved (she left the Pussycat Dolls for a solo career not long ago), and I’m waiting on feedback from another big US artist whom we’ll hopefully hear from soon! Regardless, you’ll hear that mix at The Court 😉

What does the concept of Pride mean to you?

For me it means not being ashamed of who you are, but at the same time there’s no real need to make a big deal about it in every day life. The various Pride Festivals however are our time to shine, celebrate how far we’ve come and how lucky we are in a country like ours!

Which tunes are you loving at the moment?

A few favourites for the club:
Slow Down (Danny Verde Mix) – Selena Gomez
What Now (Guy Scheiman Mix) – Rihanna
Kisses Down Low (Laszlo Mix) – Kelly Rowland

On my phone I’m listening to a lot of Jody Wisternoff, Disclosure, The XX, and lots of Sonny Fodera and Richard Earnshaw.

What makes a guy hot?

Killer smile, friendly, chats to everyone. Am a sucker for a blond, and always thought I’d settle down with a muso or creative of some sort.

Which tune makes a great Pride anthem?

Easy! Song is generally a happy one, has lyrics people remember or pick up really quickly, and has a woman with big voice singing loudly!

How did you first get into Djing?

I used to play at Blue Light Discos when I was around 11 or 12, and when I was 17 I learned how to beat match on vinyl. As soon as I was old enough I got a loan for some equipment, which wasn’t cheap back then, and started collecting vinyl – from the DJ Factory in Northbridge in fact.

Which parties and clubs have been your favourites to play?

So many to mention! I’d have to say the RHI at Mardi Gras was pretty awesome, as well as Sleaze, and the T-Dance in Melbourne. I miss playing at Disgraceland (a club night on Oxford Street a few years ago), and the Court Street Party and my Gay Ski Week gigs have also been amazing experiences.

What do you love to do when you’re in Perth?

Always love to catch up with a few friends, as well as see some family. Often I’ll head north to Kalbarri where I’m from and enjoy a few days time out before heading back east before the weekend.

Follow Adam and hear his sounds at www.facebook.com/djadamlove and catch him playing at The Court Hotel’s Pride Closing Party on Saturday November 23rd alongside Skarlet Saramore and DJ Nino Brown.
