There are growing calls for Scott Morrison, the Minister for Immigration and Border Protection, to intervene in the proposed trip to Australia by an anti-gay Nigerian pastor.

Australia’s Progressive Atheists have launched a petition asking for the Minister to review the visa application of Pastor Enoch Adeboye.

Australian’s migration laws include a character test which states that a person may be refused entry to the country if there is a possibility that the person may vilify a section of the Australian community while in the country.

Earlier this year Pastor Adeboye claimed that same sex marriage would lead to the end of the human race.

Pastor Adeboye is touring Australia and the Pacific region visiting Canberra, Sydney, New Zealand, Fiji, The Solomon Islands and Papua New Guinea.

Pastor Adeboye’s ‘Let the Wind Blow‘ tour will conclude in Perth at the Hyatt Regency on Sunday 24th and Monday 25th of November.

Despite contacting the Minister’s office several times over the last week, no staff member was able to provide a response to OUTinPerth on this issue. Comment was also sought from the Perth Branch of the Redeemed Christian Church of God.
