De La Soul for NYE Show

De La Soul ColourYou probably haven;t thought about what you’re doing for New Year’s Eve yet, but one gig that’s just been announced is looking like it’ll be a popular choice.

Legendary US hip hop band De La Soul is set to play at Slat on the Beach on NYE.

The laid back rappers from Long Island have been turning out cool jams since the late ’80s when they burst on to the scene with their debut album ‘3 Feet High and Rising’.

De La Soul are best known for their colorful, neo-psychedelic collage of samples and styles and low-key, clever rhymes and goofy humor.  With a sound unique to their hip hop contemporaries, De La Soul’s eclectic tunes combine funk and soul, pop, jazz and reggae.

The classic album get’s a spin in the OUTinPerth office at least once a week.
