Vitaly Milonov, the Russian politician who introduced the countries controversial laws banning gay propaganda, is now accusing pop stars Madonna and Lady Gaga of breaking their visa rules when performing in the country. Both stars are well known advocates of LGBT rights.
Milonov has reported accused both stars of breaking their visa rules by performing concerts while visiting Russia in 2012, claiming the stars visas only allowed for cultural exchange. Milonov first raised his complaint about Madonna in April this year, now he has added Lady Gaga to his list.
Both singers spoke in favour of LGBT rights during their shows, an act which is now illegal in Russia. Milonov is calling for both singers not to receive any payments for their work, and to return to Russia to face criminal charges.
