SceneOUT #98

Ah… Perth Fashion Festival. Good for fashion. Good for gossip. Which designer was heard overheard saying of a certain high profile person that ‘Darling, unfortunately we neeeeeeeeed people like that’? Ouch. That’d hurt… if the high profile person knew about it.

But PFF wasn’t all bad. The new venue, in fact, was amazing. So much so it’s really put PFF on the map. Fashion Paramount was a particularly amazing experience, and hats go off to everyone who helped make it into the most unbelievable experience possible.

Of course, fashion events come with exclusivity, something everyone tries to rock out in style. Unfortunately, one young chap tried to rock it out a little too hard when caught in a line to gain entry to a PFF venue. One organiser walked pass and the chap tried to charm his way in. Said organiser just exclaimed ‘Sorry, I don’t know who you are.’. As if that wasn’t bad enough, young chap tried the exact same charm on a second organiser… only to be given the exact same answer. Snickers were apparently big that night in that line.

Love Sundays takes place at Luxe Bar every Sunday night from 7pm. With Fem on the door and the likes of DJ Johnni P on the decks, this is a night of salubrious fun. Don’t forget about Cocktails & Girls, which takes place on the last Thursday of every month with money raised going towards very nice causes.

The Queen of The Court returns for another raucous season. Last year was outrageousness after outrageousness, and this year is bound to be even bigger, badder and bwa-ha-ha as a whole new troupe of baby drags set themselves up for a crash course in being a star. Fem and Val Nourished are judging in more ways than one. Happens every Thursday night from October 1 to October 22. Register now at www.thecourt.com.au.

Expect nothing pre-1990 with lots of underground vibes sure to have you coming back for more. So cool the doors don’t open until midnight. Be there!

Strip down to your jocks, it’s time to get a little Shameless. Party #6 sees the jocks and cheerleaders take over Connections for a night of rabble-rousing proportions. Dress in grid-iron get-up, grab your pom poms, strap on a jockstrap, slip on some tube socks, get a chant down pact, jump in the scrum, wear a white towel around it… or just do whatever generally comes to mind for an event such as this. Happens Saturday October 17 at Connections.
