AND THE WINNERS ARE….
The Mercedes-Benz WA Fashion Awards (WAFA) were held at the Burswood Entertainment Complex on Thursday September 10 and proved to be the highly anticipated climax to an AMAZING Perth Fashion Festival. Joveeba pipped Aurelio Costarella and Antipodium to be named Most Innovative WA Designer of the year, while Paper Skye was dubbed Designer for Tomorrow (a real surprise, especially considering the label was up against Carly Hunter and The Butcher & The Crow, both of whom smack of promise and big things). Sophie Kyron won the award for Fine Details, naturally, while make-up artist extraordinaire the one and only Hendra was named winner of The Creative Edge section. Millicent Lambert, Bridget Malcolm and Paris Fontana all took out the model sections while the glory of the best dressed boutique went to King Street’s Zekka. All up, it was an impressive list of winners! www.perthfashionfestival.com.au
