SWEET- Bake Off and High Tea

What better way to spend a Sunday afternoon in spring than eating cake and sipping champagne cocktails while raising funds for Gay and Lesbian Community Services?

On Sunday October 18th GLCS will host the SWEET Bake Off and High Tea to celebrate our 35th birthday. We are inviting individuals and community groups to bake off for a chance to win prizes, enjoy an afternoon of entertainment and, most importantly, eat cake!

CALLING ALL BAKERS!
Do you dream of being Australia’s next Master Chef? Do you know you are a genius in the kitchen but can’t handle the dehydration caused by chopping 20kilos of onions only to have your culinary prowess judged by a man wearing a cravat? If this is you, SWEET is the perfect solution.

We are calling for entries to be judged by our expert panel of non cravat wearing judges in the following categories:

Best in Show
This will be awarded to the best overall entry in the competition.

Best Decorated
Cakes will be judged on their creativity and aesthetic appeal. The possibilities are endless.

Most Erotic Cake
Cakes will be judged on decoration, creativity and interpretation of the theme.

Best Tasting Sweet Baked Good
This category is for any sweet baked good to be judged on how it tastes. This includes cakes, biscuits, slices.

Best Entry by a Community Group
This category will be judged on the entry which best represents your community group or organization.

CALLING ALL CAKE LOVERS!
If you are not much of a baker but like a good celebration, SWEET will have plenty of entertainment and cake on offer. The very talented David Gray and Rebecca Daniels will be providing plenty of aural treats with a sweet jazz set and there will also be party games and raffles to win.

Winning entries from the competition will be auctioned off to the highest bidder. All other cakes and baked goods will then be sold off to raise money for GLCS telephone counselling line.

Proudly sponsored by the Court Hotel and OUTinPerth, Sweet will be held on Sunday October 18th, 2pm at the Court. All competition entries must be received by 2.30pm for judging. There is a $5 fee for entering the bake off competition. Entry to the event is by gold coin donation to GLCS. Full details will be available soon at www.glcs.org.au or pick up a registration form at Fairday.
